His skills in strategy, business development, and program execution are further enhanced by his strong technical background.”

Mike Cole, Chief Technology Officer, Federal Civilian, GDIT

“Neil is just plain great to work with. His broad insight into almost any technical issue or process is well-grounded, and he really does meet you where you are in understanding the impact of a project and how best to fit in the tech or workflow to create a great solution. My favorite thing about Neil is that he is so chill, and even when things get dicey, he always brings a “we can figure this out together” mindset to any team. He is excellent at keeping forward momentum as much as possible, and with a great attitude. From TD to PM to PI, having Neil on the team is just a great bonus!”

Q & A

Why did you choose your profession?

Technology has always fascinated me, and how things work. At a young age, I was trying to fix things and solve problems. What better way to help than by providing my services to solve issues people say are impossible?

Who are your main influences?

My main influences are:

  • My dad, who taught me how to succeed
  • Yogesh Khanna, my mentor, taught me the value of how technology and business go hand in hand
  • My high school soccer coach, who taught me to live life and the importance of sportsmanship

What is your greatest accomplishment?

Personally: My family. I would not have gotten to where I am without the love and support from my wife and kids.

Professionally: Doing what was said couldn’t be done. Rolling out Dev/Test as a Service (DtaaS) in 2010 for DHS. Not only did it solve one of DHS’s biggest technology problems, but it also ushered in cloud computing to the Federal space. I also won the CSC Chairman’s Award for Excellence, the organization’s highest honor.

What tools do you use?

My go-to tools today are:

  • AI: Claude and Gemini
  • ITSM: ServiceNow
  • CRM: Salesforce

What advice would you give someone just starting out in your profession?

Find a mentor. Keep learning. Never give up.
